Mithila Art Workshop

The roots of Mithila art, also known as Madhubani painting, lie in the tradition on painting walls of houses during festivals. In 1964, the painting shifted to paper and the art form took on a larger canvas.

Satya Narayan Lal Karn, who is a recipient of a national award (the Padma Shri) for his work in Mithila painting, and his wife, Moti Karn, conducted a special workshop for Morcrafts. The success of this event led to a second one soon after.
